Abstract
This article explores the themes of trauma and survival in the theatrical and narrative work of Lebanese writer Hala Moughanie (born in 1980). It unfolds along three main lines: the first examines how the traumatic memory of armed conflict becomes a site of creation conceived as a form of survival; the second investigates the tensions between forgetting and remembrance in the writer’s fragmented narratives, where the intimate often intertwines with the collective; the third highlights how the traces of endured trauma manifest through a poetics of territory and language shaped by violence, exile, and loss.
