Abstract
In spite of the growing interest in co-teaching in teacher education
programs, there is a paucity of research on its use and effectiveness in
the Kurdish context. This paper aims to address this gap by
investigating Kurdish EFL teachers’ and students’ perspectives toward
implementing co-teaching model in English department in the
academic year 2019-2020. To achieve this aim, a focus group
interview with 5 teachers was carried out to elicit the required data. As
for the students’ perspectives, a questionnaire was used to obtain the
data. The data was analysed quantitatively. The study revealed that
Kurdish EFL teachers had appositive perspectives toward co-teaching
model; furthermore, the teachers also showed approving perspectives
toward implementing co-teaching in their department. Hence, coteaching
model can be regarded a promising pedagogical practice for
future use.
