Abstract
This research entitled The Reflection of Social Realism in Karwan Omar Kakasoor’s ‘‘ The Channel of the Armed Monkeys and The Defeates of Shadmal Family’’. It examines how social realism as an authentic branch of the realism school within the framework of artistic and literary genres particularly in novels which has made a significant contribution to the creation of beautiful and important texts. This branch highlights the problems and negative phenomena within society especially those that have caused societal regression and stagnation, reporting on them clearly, and attempts to find solutions to these problems. In this research, the analytical descriptive method has been applied to introduce and present concepts, to analyze and evaluate subjects. The findings of this research demonstrate that the Kurdish society is not exempt from the social problems as femicide, impurity of marriage, the scourge of poverty, sexual assault, and several other topics. In both novels, the novelist tries to find solutions for these negative phenomena that continuously pose threats to members of society. Therefore, Kakasoor becomes the voice of those who are silenced and oppressed in society.
