Abstract
The article examines the current issues of developing, writing and using modern textbooks to teach Russian as a foreign language to Arab students, such as Iraqis. Furthermore, the study attracts attention to different models of building textbooks to be the main learning tool and an effective way of teaching various experiences. The article explains the history of the development of academic textbooks of Russian sciences and the contribution of prominent Russian scholars in designing textbooks, taking into consideration the difficulties of designing trainings to teach RFL to Arab students.
Textbooks are available since ancient times, however, there is always a need to update content and develop the methods of teaching.
