Abstract

This paper is an edition and a study of a manuscript which is published for the first time after being being kept for many decades on the shelves of libraries. The manuscript was written by Mohammad Al-Izmiri who taught Arabic in Turkey and was greatly influenced by the grammatical writings of Turkish linguists. The paper is divided into two parts and the first part is subdivided int six sub-section: The first is devoted to the author, the second to the copies of the manuscript, the third to a description of the manuscript, the fourth to its origin, the fifth to the differences between the manuscript on the one hand and AL-Jurjani and Al-Barkawi, on the other hand concerning parsing and the sixth to the difference between the manuscript and Al-Barkawi’s Matni Idhhar il-Asraar. The last part is devoted to the edition of the manuscript as the author wished it to appear.
